The Learning Management System (LMS) is the organizational backbone of the Connections Academy program. The LMS is a Web-based application that is accessible from any Internet connection.

Tools for Parents and Learning Coaches

Parents and Learning Coaches typically start the school day by logging on to their personalized home pages. The home page is a portal to the features used on a daily basis.

• Monitor each student’s progress using the grade book and progress reports.
• View each student's schedule, assignments, and lessons on the Planner.
• Communicate with teachers and other families using email and discussion groups.
• Report each student’s attendance.

Tools for Students

Students also have personalized home pages. Start each day on your home page and use it to:

• View the day’s schedule and lessons.
• Interact with teachers and other students.
• Participate in clubs and activities in the Virtual Library.

Tools for Teachers and Administrators

The LMS is used extensively by teachers and administrators. Some of the many tools for teachers allow them to:

• Track student progress
• Communicate quickly and effectively with students and parents
• Conduct lessons live over the internet with LiveLesson™
• Modify lesson content to meet students’ needs

Administrators monitor student progress and teacher effectiveness. The LMS provides the resources they need to encourage and empower their teachers to provide an exceptional education to our students.

Teachers and administrators use the LMS on a daily basis to create a positive and productive educational environment.
